Grateful Citizens can show their support to the men and women of the SPD who help make Sarasota the incredible community it is for all of us. In 2019, with approximately 179 officers, the SPD responded to 81,897 calls for service within the city limits.
As our community continues to grow and evolve, training and support of new officers become an increasingly important component. Less than 1.3% of the department’s budget was earmarked for training in 2019. Working together with the community, the SPF is focused on ensuring that our officers have the best skills, tools and resources to succeed in the service of our community. But we need your help.
